Comment
This is an extension to an existing wind farm with 4 turbines of 99.5 m height. The 5 new turbines would be one and a half times as big as the existing ones at 149.9 m. Larger turbines need to be placed further apart. The larger turbines are much more imposing and the mix of heights and large distances between the new turbines pulls the cluster apart and makes for a disjoint look. In addition this application proposes yet another Battery Energy Storage System (BESS for short) very close to peat and degraded (and that means dried out) peat. BESS are very problematic because the safety aspects are not assessed before planning consent is granted. Safety aspects are relevant to site selection and design and should be considered BEFORE an application is granted. All hazards should be declared, assessed and properly mitigated in an application.
